Yoann Penard

Here is a parallel world, a strange, mysterious and dark world, which breathes mythology, which supposes other forms of life, other languages, other cultures. On the borders of contemporary sculpture, Yoann Penard has sketched a universe of which he seems to know all the workings with infinite precision.

Born in 1976, this artist based in France near Bordeaux has exhibited regularly in France and abroad since the early 2000s. He completed his first public commission in bronze for a square in the city of Libourne in 2021.

In his creative process, Y.Penard uses clay modeling, ceramics with acrylic resins, metal and bronze. If these works seem to exhume the vestiges of a lost civilization, they undoubtedly do not only evoke the past. Perhaps we could see in them some symbols of the present world or of the future in gestation, in other words of eternal history.
